COMPANY HISTORY
Evogen, Inc. (fka.Sceptor Industries), based in Lenexa, Kansas, was founded in 2002 as a spin-out from Midwest Research Institute (MRI) following the U.S. anthrax attacks. Beginning with its initial air sampling technology the SpinCon®, Evogen has demonstrated ability to develop and deploy superior biological solutions and products for collect/detect systems.
Evogen’s best known technology, the SpinCon, is deployed by the United States Postal Service on over 1,000 sorting machines in processing centers across the United States (The largest biological security installation in the world to date). In 2010, Evogen’s DryClone™ Technology in partnership with MFSI was formally awarded the DHS BAND program for biological air sampling.
After acquiring and further developing technology for molecular diagnostics, Evogen has become a biological detection system company, and is the leading developer and manufacturer of High Definition PCR™ (HD-PCR) molecular diagnostic systems, meeting the needs of a diverse range of markets including bio-defense, clinical, research, animal health, food and water safety and environmental monitoring.
evoPrep is currently being used successfully by several prestigious research organizations.
HyBeacons probes offer the traditional capabilities of real-time PCR probes, but also provide additional important information including: target confirmation, drug resistance, strain identification and the unique ability to identify target mutations via high resolution melt analysis (highest resolution of any PCR probe chemistry).
HyBeacon® and HyBeacons® are registered trademarks of LGC Limited, or its affiliate, and of which Evogen is a licensee.
